Stroke symptoms may include the following :

  • Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding.

  • Sudden numbness or weakness of face, arm or leg - especially on one side of the body.

  • Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes.

  • Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination.

  • If you have experienced any of these symptoms, you may have had either a stroke or TIA / Mini-stroke.

 

If you think someone is having a stroke it is important to :

FACE : Ask the person to smile.

                 Notice if one side of their face droops.

ARMS : Ask the person to raise both of their arms.

                 Notice if one arm drifts downward.

SPEECH : Ask the person to repeat a simple  

                 sentence.  Do they slur their words?

TIME : If the person shows any of these symptoms-

               -Time is important !

Call 911 immediately or get to a hospital fast because brain cells are dying.
